We’re proud to be restoring one of the oldest wineries in St. James, Missouri. Just off the legendary Route 66—only three miles north of St. James Winery, the home of Missouri’s largest winery—our historic barn tasting room welcomes you for a complimentary wine tasting. Stay awhile at one of our new RV camping sites (with electric) or in one of our newly built Vineyard Suites, where you can relax on our spacious decks and patios, and take in the beautiful views of our works in progress in the vineyards and Christmas tree farm.

Stay at the Vineyard Suites Bed & Breakfast

As part of our mission to restore one of the oldest wineries in St. James, Missouri, we’ve completely renovated what were once the Seyval and Vidal cottage bed & breakfast rooms during the historic Ferrigno Vineyards era. Today, these beautifully reimagined spaces are home to the Vineyard Suites Bed & Breakfast at Prairie Barn Winery & Christmas Tree Farm—a peaceful countryside retreat in the heart of Missouri wine country.

Each of our four uniquely appointed suites—Catawba, Concord, Chambourcin, and Norton—is named after classic Missouri grape varieties and designed with your comfort in mind. Enjoy the privacy of your own entrance, a custom-designed bedroom and bathroom, individual heating and air conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a wall-mounted flat screen TV. Step outside onto your private deck to unwind with a glass of wine and take in beautiful sunsets and see the the progress we’re making in with vineyards and Christmas trees.

Guests can also indulge in special amenities including wine or wine slushy service delivered to your room, room service, and a home-cooked breakfast with the winemaker—a true taste of local flavor and hospitality.

Electric RV Camping Now Available!

We’re excited to announce that Prairie Barn Winery now offers electric RV camping sites—perfect for a peaceful getaway among the rolling hills, vineyards, and starry skies of the Meramec Highlands. Park, plug in, relax, and enjoy the charm of the countryside right here at the winery. Each space is wired for 50/30/20 amp connections.

With over 3,000 trees planted so far and finally receiving some much needed rain this year (2024) our Christmas trees are starting to grow. We planted three different varieties: Scotch Pine, White Pine and Norway Spruce. We’ve ordered an additional 700 to plant in the Spring of 2025! Scotch Pine, White Pine, and Norway Spruce all bring unique characteristics to our Christmas tree farm. Scotch Pine is known for its vibrant green needles and excellent needle retention, making it a popular choice for Christmas trees. White Pine, with its soft, long needles, is a favorite for those who love a more delicate look. And the Norway Spruce, with its strong branches and elegant shape, can create a beautiful full-bodied tree.
